Cucumbers and Gherkins

Cucumbers and gherkins like warmth, so they prefer a sunny, sheltered position. If you have a greenhouse, this is perfect, but at Bakker.com we also sell varieties that are suitable for planting out in the open. The cucumber is a climbing plant, and can also be grown in a pot on the patio with a suitable support. The seedless fruits can either be eaten fresh in salads or diced and used in chutneys or pickled like gherkins. See below for the Bakker.com range of cucumbers and gherkins.
