Striking blue hyacinth!
The name says it all: the hyacinth 'Delft Blue' (Hyacinthus) has the most deep blue flowers that look beautiful in a border or in a pot or flower box. This low-growing spring bloomer does not grow taller than 20–25 cm. Plant the bulbs in autumn in the ground or in a large pot. The flowers will bloom in the spring.
Protect the potted flower bulbs in winter by covering the soil with a layer of autumn leaves. In the event of severe frost, temporarily place the pot in a shed or protect it with bubble wrap. When planted in a pot, the flower bulbs can be somewhat closer together. The hyacinth grows best in partial shade. It's best to add a bit of extra water only during dry spells.
This is how to retain the traditional Dutch element in your garden!
