Snapdragon 'Twincolor F1' Mix

Snapdragon seeds do not require any pre-treatment. How to Sow Sowing period under glass: February - March,
open ground: April - May or September - October (for germination in spring).

Sowing is possible in 2 ways:

1. Sowing from February will be easiest in a small greenhouse on the window-sill or in a cold greenhouse. A temperature of 18 - 22°C would be ideal. Fill the little pots with sowing compost and place 1 seed on the soil of each pot and press it down gently. Antirrhinum x hybrida is a light germinator, so the seed should not be covered. Water carefully, and the warmth will do the rest. Plant the dragonfly outdoors from May. You will be able to inhibit growth by moving them to a cooler but light location.
2. Sowing in open ground, preferably in full sun, is possible from late April to the end of May. Loosen the soil to a depth of at least 30 cm. Create a straight groove of approx. 1 cm deep. Place a label at the beginning of the groove. Mix the seed with dry sharp sand and apply the seed by letting it fall between thumb and index finger above the groove. Sow as thinly as possible. Antirrhinum x hybrida is a light germinator, so the seed should not be covered. Sow several rows 20 cm apart.

The seed will germinate in 14 - 21 days.

Planting out
Plant the richly blooming Antirrhinum x hybrida ‘Twincolor’ F1 in their final destination from April/May. The dragonfly will do excellently in borders or flowerbeds. Prepare a plant hole and improve poor garden soil with compost or fresh potting compost.
The plants should be planted approximately 30 m apart in borders and flowerbeds. Add more soil and press down firmly. Water immediately after planting.

Give extra water during dry periods. Keep the plot free from weed. In this way the snapdragon will continue to grow well. The snapdragon is very undemanding. It will also do very well in poor soil. The plant will be ready for flowering from June. Harvesting The beautiful flowers with medium height stems are easy to harvest with scissors or a knife. You can also use your thumb and index finger.

Snapdragon (Antirrhinum x hybrida ‘Twincolor’ F1) is an annual plant. These snapdragons are able to reach 50 to 60 cm high. This plant originates from southern Europe.

The snapdragon is self-seeding, so you will have plants for the next year as well. If you do not want this, you should remove the spent flowers in time. On the other hand, this is really quite easy. You will simply plant them out on the preferred location, or you will remove them.

The seed is very winter-hardy. The plant will freeze but is able to withstand quite some coldness, and will survive for quite a while in winter.
