Prepare a large hole for your Prunus avium ‘Compact Stella’ and fork the soil well loose. Make sure the root ball is drenched before planting this patio Cherry Tree - soak it overnight in lukewarm water. Plant the roots at the appropriate depth - the top of the root ball should be slightly below ground level. Fill the hole and press firmly in. Water immediately after planting. Care
Prunus avium ‘Compact Stella’ is easy to grow. Water this cherry tree regularly. Are you growing your Patio Cherry Tree in a pot? Never let the root ball dry out! Early in the year, we recommend applying some mixed organic fertilizer to the soil. Mulch the base of the tree with compost. The cherries will ripen in the second half of July dending on weather conditions. You'll know when they are ready for picking by their dark red colour. Protect from birds with netting over the tree. Pruning your Patio Cherry Tree 'Compact Stella' Is your Patio Cherry Tree growing too tall? Then nip the top. Completely cut back any dead branches. After harvesting, prune the branches that have borne fruit.  Prune crossing branches and any branches growing vertically. Never prune in frosty conditions.

Patio Cherry Tree 'Compact Stella' is slow growing and won't take up much room. Beautiful white cherry blossom will appear in the spring. The delicious sweet cherries can be picked in the second half of July. You can eat them straight from picking or use them to make delicious jams. Cherries are very good for you - low in calories but containing lots of fibre and vitamins.
