Mazus Reptans grows well in the ground. Prepare a suitable hole in moist well-drained soil. Improve your soil by mixing in some compost. Plant the Mazus Reptans at the appropriate depth and approximately 15 cm apart. The top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. Mazus Reptans grows and flourishes in an area with complete sunshine, although it may need to be protected from the afternoon heat.
Mazus Reptans makes an excellent combination plant
Mazus Reptans forms a continuous carpet of leaves and flowers and is a wonderful ground cover plant. Place this wonderful low-growing plant along with taller growing plants, such as Hemerocallis 'Stella de Oro'. It can also be placed along the edge of a pond as the stems provide a great camouflage. You can also plant Mazus Reptans in a pot.
Care
Mazus Reptans is an easy-to-grow perennial that requires minimal maintenance. Be sure to prevent the soil around its roots from drying out. This ground cover likes damp soil. In the winter the stems will die back. Cover the plant with a layer of fallen leaves during the winter. In spring cut all of its stems off and soon there will be some new shoots visible above the ground.

Mazus Reptans is a perennial that blooms from spring to early summer. Its light violet flowers have a unique shape and the lower lip of the flower is speckled. This plant grows only a few centimetres high and forms a dense clump, which makes it great as a ground cover plant.
