Uvaria Kniphofia 'Grandiflora' needs to be in a sunny or partially shady position, although it will not flower as well in the shade. Uvaria Kniphofia 'Grandiflora' grows and flowers best in fertile, acid or neutral soil that is moist but well-drained, and is enriched with humus. Prepare a suitable hole, improve poor garden soil by mixing in some granulated cow manure. Plant the thick rhizome of the red hot poker upright in the hole, spaced approximately 50 cm apart. The top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting.
