Evergreen hedge
Do you have lots of colourful flowers in your garden? Then the taxus baccata is ideal! This evergreen hedge is dark green, which enhances the appeal of the other flowers as a result. The yew is a slow-growing species. That means less pruning work for you! For a dense hedge, we plant five yews per linear metre.
You will receive the yew as bare-root stock. This is more environmentally friendly than plastic nursery pots. The roots are shipped fresh from the ground. They are already one year old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to grow faster than they would in a nursery pot. Plants grown from bare-root stock also adapt to their new environment more easily. They flower better and they are more economical. Bare-root stock plants grow when it becomes warmer. They are winter-hardy perennials.
The hedge should be pruned twice per year. Once in the spring and once in the autumn. For the best results, give the hedge 'conifer and yew' food. Plant it in well-drained soil. The ground should never be too wet. This hedge doesn't like being soaked. Sufficient light is needed to ensure good growth, The hedge grows best in full or half sun.
