Planting
Plant your large, flat cyclamen tubers as soon as possible upon receipt. These cyclamen tubers need to be planted about 5 cm deep, roots down (top side is slightly dented in). There may be small buds visible which will later form the foliage and flowers on your cyclamen. Store these tubers frost-free until planted in the soil, otherwise they won't survive. Potted cyclamen tubers especially will need frost protection. To plant, loosen the soil and plant the bulbs with roots down. Refill the hole with more soil and try not to walk over where you have planted them. Cyclamen will thrive in humus rich soil that is not too wet, in partial shade or shade. Cyclamen in the garden Cyclamen's small flowers look their best planted in larger groups so do plant quite a numbers together. Cyclamen looks great in amongst low growing ground cover plants like perhaps Pulmonaria. Or try your cyclamen under deciduous shrubs.
