Simple. Pure. Fresh from the garden.

White flowers, 95 cm stems, all the way until autumn? You had better believe it: the anemone "Whirlwind". You will receive the anemones as bare-root stock in sugar cane sacking. This is more environmentally friendly than plastic nursery pots. The roots are shipped fresh from the ground. They are already one year old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to grow faster than they would in a nursery pot. Plants grown from bare-root stock also adapt to their new environment more easily. They flower better and they are more economical. Bare-root stock plants grow when it becomes warmer. They are winter-hardy perennials. They can be planted at any time, provided that the ground is not frozen. The anemones bloom from summer to autumn. During dry periods, give the "Whirlwind" additional water. Don't leave them swimming in a puddle, though. Plant the anemones in full or half shade. Or in different spots around the garden. They can also be planted in flower pots on a patio, roof terrace or balcony.

Planting
The anemone is a hardy perennial that grows well in the garden. Dig a large planting hole and thoroughly loosen the soil. Improve poor garden soil by mixing in some compost and granulated cow manure. Plant the root of the Japanese anemone at the right depth in the planting hole - the top of the root ball should come to just below soil level. Fill the hole with soil, heel the plant well in and water immediately. Anemones grow and flower well in shade or part shade in a humus rich, fertile soil.
Care
Until October, you can enjoy beautiful freshly cut flowers, straight from your own garden.  When most flowers are over, this variety will amaze you with a wealth of fantastic blooms.
Extra
These anemones are graceful autumn flowering plants with quite large flowers. The centres all have a ring of yellow stamens. This hardy anemone should really be in everyone's autumn border. The flowers will appear from August well into October.
