The tubers can be planted in open ground or in a pot. Potted tubers aren't frost hardy, so bring the pot indoors or protect the plant with bubble wrap. Space the tubers out when planting in open ground. The distance between plants is three times the width of the tuber. Plant the tuber the depth of three times the tuber's height. Plant the large-flowered crocus ‘Flower Record’ as soon as possible after receipt, in the garden or in pots and planters. Plant in a hole 3 times deeper than the height of the bulb - a 2 cm bulb goes in a 6 cm hole with a planting distance of about 2 cm.
Loosen the soil well with a fork and plant the crocus with the point upwards. Refill the planting hole and avoid walking over the soil. For larger groups, dig a wider hole and plant more bulbs together.
