Waxed Amaryllis in bloom
Depending on where you stand it, an amaryllis bulb will take about 3-6 weeks to flower. These waxed amaryllis bulbs store enough energy in the bulb to flower without soil or water. These waxed amaryllis bulbs grow two flower stems, each with 3 or 4 big flowers. It’s not every type of
amaryllis bulb that is suited to being given a nice wax jacket. We select special amaryllis bulbs for preparation, prior to being waxed. This treatment ensures that the bulbs flower at just the right moment. Waxing an amaryllis bulb is precise work. If the wax is too hot it will damage the bulb and if it’s too cold it won’t cover the bulb sufficiently. Our waxed amaryllis bulbs are of the very best quality and will always flower.
Bulb with stand
All our waxed bulbs have a stand attached to the base of the bulb – a metal spring which ensure that each bulb stays upright and won’t fall over under the weight of the large blooms. If you prefer to display your waxed bulb(s) in a decorative dish that’s not a problem – simply remove the stand.
No Water Flowers
There are actually lots of flowering bulbs that will flower with no water or soil. Amaryllis is another one that contains all the nutrients required for flowering. That’s why it’s really not necessary to plant or water these ‘No Water Flowers’. Just give your amaryllis bulb a nice prominent spot and it will start growing right away. After about 3-6 weeks, you’ll see the big and graceful flowers appear as if by magic from your waxed bulb.
