White bell flowers
Red in winter and white in spring. The switch ivy 'Little Flames' (Leucothoe axillaris) is a small evergreen shrub whose fine leaves turn red in winter. And in spring, its fine leaves turn green again. And it blooms with white bell flowers in small bunches. The dog hobble can be planted in open ground or in a pot, for colour on the balcony. The hardy shrub can be planted all year round. The shrub blooms in the spring with lovely white flowers.
The dog hobble does not need pruning. Plant the Leucothoe in partial shade. The shrub prefers well-drained soil. Give it extra water during dry periods.
