Long shelf-life and soft
The 'Musquee de Provence' pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) is a heritage variety from France. It has a long shelf-life and it is also decorative. After ripening, the fruit's colour changes from green to a creamy orange. The 'Musquee de Provence' is deeply ribbed and has soft flesh. It is great to use for pumpkin soup. Plant the vegetable plants from late April to mid-June in the open ground in a seed bed. Then move them outdoors to fertile soil later. You can harvest in September.
Space the squash seeds 80 cm apart. Space the rows at a distance of 80 cm. Plant at a depth of 0.5 to 1 cm. Plant the vegetable seeds in a nice spot in partial shade or full sun. After sowing, water the seeds adequately. The vegetable seeds come in a bag containing approximately 1.5 grams. This is enough to sow 3 square metres.
