The bulrush is just 5 cm long when it is planted. By the end of the summer, it will have grown to around 50 cm! We maintain a planting depth of 40 cm for the marsh plant. The water plant also does well under water. Plant the lesser bulrush in the spring. The flower blossoms in the summer.

An aquatic plant, Typha angustifolia (lesser bulrush), is best used in a pond basket. Line the basket with a piece of jute and fill the pond with special pond medium. Plant lesser bulrush in the basket and fill with soil. Cover everything with the remaining jute and sprinkle with a layer of gravel. Place the basket just below the surface or up to 10-30 cm deep in the pond. If your pond is too deep, you could stand your basket on a pile of bricks. Full sun or part shade.
Reedmace combines perfectly with all other aquatic plants
Reedmace is an elegant narrow-leafed aquatic plant that will give your pond a very natural look. It combines perfectly with the flowering rush (Butomus Umbellatus) and yellow iris (Pseudacorus) along the edge of a natural pond. These riparian plants will definitely attract several insects.
Care
Reedmace (typha angustifolia) is an easily grown pond plant that requires minimal maintenance. Cut off its dead leaves in autumn and remove them from the pond. If the clump grows too large, you should take reedmace out of the pond in May, divide the clump into smaller pieces and plant only one piece back inside the pond.

Reedmace's flowers are great for drying and are therefore very popular for dried flower arrangements. Its long, narrow leaves resemble reeds.
