Fresh leeks (Allium porrum) from your garden. The 'Blauwgroene Winter' has blue-green leaves. It is very suitable as a winter crop. Plant the leeks extra deep in the soil to produce a long, white column of up to 20 cm. Plant the vegetable seeds in a seed bed in the open ground in March to May. Plant the plants outdoors when the plants have the thickness of a pencil. You can harvest from November to February.
Space the leek seeds 15 cm apart. Space the rows at a distance of 35 cm. Plant at a depth of 0.5 to 1 cm. Leek grows best in fertile, loose, well-fertilised soil.
