A sea of flowers
A garden bathed in pink. The Japanese cherry tree 'Amonaogawa' (Prunus serrulata) is very popular. The 'Amonaogawa' grows in a narrow pillar shape, making it suitable for smaller gardens too. It flowers in April and blooms until the start of May producing a mass of soft-pink flowers. The cherry tree is very easy to maintain. Prune it in the summer — in July after the flowering period. This is purely to help the small tree maintain its shape. Pick a nice spot in the partial shade or in the sun to plant the Prunus and give it extra water during dry periods.
