A sea of blue flowers! The hyssop (Hyssopus oficinalis) creates a charming atmosphere in your garden! The very fragrant, blue flowers attract butterflies and bees. It is a true native plant The young branches of the hyssop are edible. They taste a bit like sage. Pick them before they bloom. The flowers bloom beautifully in the summer.
To keep the hyssop's shape, prune half of the plant back, either in the spring or immediately after it blooms. Plant three plants per linear metre. The hardy Hyssopus is happiest in full sun. The hyssop handles dry weather well. Give it extra water during dry spells.
