A handy hanging plant
Small, oval-shaped leaves tinged with pink. The Hoya 'Lisa' (australis) really is a lovely hanging plant. It is a wonderful complement to the greenery you already have at home. Give the Hoya some love by keeping the soil damp. But make sure that there's never standing water in the pot. Place it in a bright spot but away from direct sunlight. Your 'Lisa' is supplied in a practical plastic hanging pot. You can simply detach the handles if you want to set the plant down on a cupboard or shelf. Did you know...? Umbels of small, white nocturnal flowers may appear on your Hoya overnight in spring. As night these flowers exude a strong fragrance that is reminiscent of clean laundry.

How to plant the Hoya in a pot?
This houseplant is delivered in a standard growers pot. It’s best for the growth of the Hoya to plant it in a decorative planter with trellis. So you can lead up the growing branches.
Cover the bottom of the decorative planter with a layer of potting soil. The Hoya should be 1 to 2 cm below the rim. Remove the growers pot and place the plant in the middle of the decorative pot. Fill the pot with fresh potting soil and press it down slightly.

Care
What do I need?
• Watering can
• Fertiliser for green plants
• Plant sprayer
How to take care of Hoyas?
Hoyas don't like a lot of water. A weekly dash is sufficient. Dissolve a little flowering plant fertiliser in the irrigation water every second week. The Hoya needs a rest period in November and December. Then water less and don't fertilise.
Do not put the plant too close to the heating. The hot airflow can dry out the leaves too quickly. You can leave the old flowers. Maybe they will bloom again! The Hoya enjoys a light spot with morning or evening sun.

Extra
Waxflower (Hoya) is a sturdy houseplant, easily grown. The leathery leaves are a glossy green. Waxflower rather resembles a succulent so requires very little watering.
Waxflower originated in the tropical, dry regions of Eastern Australia and is used in the tropics as ornamental, municipal planting. In more temperate climes, it makes a very popular houseplant. The large number of flowers smell delightfull.
Hoya is classified under Apocynaceae.
Waxflower rather resembles another well-known houseplant, Stephanotis floribunda - even down to the scented flowers!
