Geranium 'Apollo' (Pelargonium) is one of the most popular summer plants. They flower for a long time until the frost sets in. About 10 to 12 weeks after sowing the first plants will flower.

How to Sow
Sow under glass, February-March. Outdoors in the garden, from May.
Indoors, it's easiest to use a propagator on the windowsill. Fill small pots with potting compost and place 1 seed per pot. Pelargonium hybrids need light to germinate so sprinkle over the seed only very lightly with soil. Press the seed carefully down and spray gently with water. Heat will do the rest.
Repot each seedling up to a slightly larger pot and store cooler - perhaps in a cold frame in the light. This keeps them from shooting up too quickly when it's not yet warm enough outdoors.
Plant outdoors in a sunny, sheltered spot - directly into the garden is fine. If you want to keep them in pots until next year too, use an attractive planter (or you can just repot them when it's time to bring them back indoors).
These seedlings will be susceptible to frost so use garden fleece to protect them when frost is forecast.
The seeds should germinate in 7-21 days.

Care
Flowers from May - October. Last year's plants can flower as early as May! Newly grown seedlings will begin to flower at the end of June.
Water extra in periods of drought and keep the flower bed free of weed to allow your geraniums (Pelargonium hybrids) to flourish. Geraniums don't ask much but do not like their roots to be too wet. Poor soil will not be a problem for this plant but it will show its appreciation for some fertiliser with a higher potassium (K) content, than that of nitrogen (N).
Geraniums can flourish from May through to autumn and this plant can grow up to 40 cm tall. If you want to keep it compact, nip out the tops of each plant. Make them bushy by topping off the main stem at 8-10 cm high. Overwintering This Pelargonium hybrid should flower in the first season. It is actually a plant for in planters that can be overwintered. Just bring the plant somewhere indoors that is frost-free. As long as it's light, it will (mostly) retain its leaf. If it's dark, your Pelargonium hybrid will lose all its leaf but in both cases, keep the soil somewhat moist. Definitely not too wet, especially for overwintering.
Cut these geraniums back in the spring and the plants will grow back stronger than ever in the 2nd year although they will not take over.

Extra
The geranium or pelargonium (Pelargonium hybrid) is an annually grown semi-shrub that grows to about 25-50 cm tall. In frost-free regions, it can grow quite woody and will then blossom even more profusely the next year.
