Small, colourful stems
These colourful dwarf lupins are just as beautiful as the tall ones. Dwarf lupins do not grow tall. The "Gallery" Mix can be planted in flower pots or separately around the garden. In order to keep them blooming for as long as possible, flowers that have withered should be regularly pruned. You will receive the dwarf lupins as bare-root stock in sugar cane sacking. This is more environmentally friendly than plastic nursery pots. The roots are shipped fresh from the ground. They are already one year old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to grow faster than they would in a nursery pot. Plants grown from bare-root stock also adapt to their new environment more easily. They flower better and they are more economical. Bare-root stock plants grow when it becomes warmer. They are winter-hardy perennials. They can be planted at any time, provided that the ground is not frozen. The dwarf lupins will begin blooming in the middle of spring. This will continue for months. They should be placed in full or half sun. Make sure that the plant gets enough water. Dwarf lupins cannot go without it. It's best to give the plant extra water during dry periods.

Planting
The Dwarf Lupins grow best in moderately light and slightly acid, well-drained, sandy soil in full sun or partial shade. Prepare a suitable hole, improve poor garden soil by mixing in some peat. Plant the Dwarf Lupins at the appropriate depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting.
Dwarf Lupins are great for the border
With their compact growth and fantastic blend of colours, Dwarf Lupins are great for the border. You can plant these colourful perennials next to Tanacetum Coccineum and Sidalcea Oregana 'Party Girl'.
Care
Dwarf Lupins are hardy perennials. Be sure to prevent the soil around the roots from drying out as very dry soil is poorly tolerated. Cut down once the flowers have faded and they may flower again later in the autumn. The formation of seeds may deplete the plant. In winter, cover this plant with a layer of fallen leaves.
Extra
The fresh green leaves of this plant are uniquely shaped. The flowers grow in long clusters around the stems. Sometimes they change tones and they often fade, but still look beautiful. The flowers tend to have short, sturdy stems which is why they don't need any support. The flowers have a light floral fragrance.
