    Planting
Echinacea hybrids thrive best in the garden. Prepare a large hole in good, loose soil. Improve poor garden soil by mixing in some compost and granulated cow manure. You will need approximately 9 plants per square metre. Plant the root ball of Coneflower (mixed) at the appropriate depth - the top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly down. Water immediately after planting. Mixed Coneflower will thrive in a sunny area and in loose, nutritious soil. Mixed Coneflower is great for the border The large, daisy-like flowers of Mixed Coneflowers are the focal point in any border. This colourful mix combines well with Woundwart (Stachys Officinalis 'Rosea'), Phlox, Delphinium and ornamental grasses. These hybrids are most impressive planted in large groups.
    Care
This perennial Echinacea hybrid is easily grown and requires little or no maintenance. Make sure that the soil around the roots remains moist, however, soil that is too wet will not be tolerated, especially in wintertime. The stems will eventually all die back but the (dead) flowers will show lovely in silhouette in the winter. Cover the plants with a layer of fallen leaves for the winter and cut back entirely in the spring. New shoots will soon appear.
    Extra
The Coneflower is originally from North America and is part of the aster family. The flowers have a dense orange-brown centre surrounded by a wreath of petals and they can grow up to 10 cm across. Echinacia flowers attract lots of (bumble) bees and butterflies. These mixed Coneflowers are an exclusive selection of the finest Coneflower varieties. In recent years some new yellow and orange Coneflowers have been cultivated. We have added these together with a mix of white, pale pink and dusky pink Coneflowers for a lovely colour combination. Coneflowers make excellent cut flowers, and they should definitely be in your cut flower garden.
