Eryngium alpinum ‘Blue Star’ thrives well in full sun in loose, fertile, water retaining soil - some shade will not harm it at all and it will look wonderful in the garden border.
Prepare a wide hole and loosen the soil with a fork, poor soil can be improved with some well-rotted manure and/or fertiliser pellets. Plant your Blue Sea Holly at a depth of about 10 cm. Fill the hole with soil, heel well in and water immediately after planting. Care
Eryngium alpinum ‘Blue Star’ is an easy-to-grow perennial that can remain in the same spot for several years. Make sure that the soil around the roots of young plants doesn't dry out. Wet soil is poorly tolerated during the winter.
