Lovely, fragrant flowers!
Want a beautiful hedge that also smells fabulous? This fragrant hedge mix is perfect. We compiled a mix of five shrubs. The first fragrant flowers will already be blooming by spring. The shrubs form a colourful hedge. This mix contains:1 Common lilac (Syringa vulgaris): blossoms in spring with lilac flowers.1 Mock orange (Philadelphus "Virginal"): blossoms in spring with white flowers.1 Beach rose (Rosa rugosa): blossoms in summer with pink flowers.1 Winter honeysuckle (Lonicera fragrantissima): blossoms in spring with white flowers in spring.1 Butterfly bush (Buddleja davidii): blossoms in summer with purple flowers. We deliver the fragrant hedge as bare-root stock: just the five bare branches and roots. The plants are shipped fresh from the ground. They are already one to two years old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to branch out faster than they would in a nursery pot. Plants grown from bare-root stock also adapt to their new environment more easily. They grow better and they're more economical. The hedge should be pruned twice per year. Once in the spring and once in the autumn. For the best results, give the hedge "beech and hedge" food. The hedge will grow in any moist, well-drained soil. Make sure that the ground stays moist during the initial period after planting. It's best to give them extra water during dry periods. Sufficient light is needed to ensure good growth. The hedge grows best in full or half sun.

Planting
The best time to plant your Fragrant Hedge Collection is from October to April. Prepare a hole 60-80 cm and improve the soil with compost and manure. Soak the plants in water for one hour before planting. Divide the shrubs in the hole, about 5 plants per 4.5 meters. The hedge will be about 1.5 m wide. The top of the root balls should be at ground level in the garden (please note that some land will collapse). Fill with soil, and give them lots of water so that it almost turns into a swamp.
Care
During the first year water on a regular basis. After that, it is only necessary to provide water during dry periods. In winter, cover the ground under the hedge with garden compost and manure.
Fragrant Hedges can be pruned
The Fragrant Hedge Collection can be pruned twice a year. Prune Syringa Vulgaris, Philadelphus 'Virginal' and Lonicera Fragantissima after they flower in June. Prune Rosa Rugosa and Buddleja Davidii sharply during the spring. The Fragrant Hedge Collection can have a free shape and doesn't need to be cut tight.
Extra
Our Fragrant Hedge Collection consists of Lilac (Syringa vulgaris), Mock Orange (Philadelphus 'Virginal'), Wild Rose (Rosa rugosa), Winter Honeysuckle (Lonicera fragrantissima) and Butterfly Bush (Buddleia davidii). These shrub varieties have been carefully selected and will surprise you with their pleasantly scented blooms.
