Planting
As soon as possible after receiving the Dwarf Narcissi bulbs they can be planted in the garden, a flower pot or in a planter. If not they must be kept in a frost-free area. Bulbs planted in a flower pot are not usually frost resistant. Plant the bulbs in a planting hole that is three times as deep as the height of the bulbs. A bulb of 5 cm should be planted in a 15 cm deep hole with a planting distance of approximately 5 cm. Loosen the soil well and plant the bulbs with the point facing upwards. Refill the planting hole and avoid walking over the soil. Plant the bulbs one by one with a small trowel or with a special bulb planter. For larger groups make a wider hole and plant more bulbs in it. Dwarf Narcissi in the garden The more Dwarf Narcissi bulbs you plant the more beautiful effect the flowers will have. Plant in groups of at least 10 bulbs, or divide about 25 to 50 or more bulbs evenly in the garden border or a flower bed. The Dwarf Narcissi grows best in moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Dwarf Narcissi also grow well in a flower pot or patio container. Make sure you use fresh potting compost and put a layer of gravel or hydro granules at the bottom of the pot. Plant the narcissi bulbs with the point facing upwards. Protect the bulbs against frost by placing the pot in a frost-free area or cover it with bubble wrap. Water during dry periods. After flowering the bulbs can be planted in the garden.
Care
The Dwarf Narcissus bulbs can remain in the same spot for years. Deadhead the faded flowers and this will direct the energy back into the bulb. After flowering, leave the foliage to die down naturally and cut back when it has turned yellow. They will flower in abundance the following spring if they are left undisturbed.
Extra
Our mix consists of compact, small-flowered varieties, which are ideal for any spot in the garden. As the flowers differ slightly, the sight and sweet smell of the flowers can continue for up to 6 weeks. They are wonderful combined with other spring flowers like small anemones. All the varieties are suitable as cut flowers for the home.
