How do I plant the dwarf iris?
It’s best to plant the dwarf iris as soon as possible after receipt. Plant it directly into the ground, in a flower pot or in a spacious planter. The dwarf iris grows best in loose, well-drained soil. A sheltered spot in the sun or semi-shade will do just fine.
The dwarf iris should be planted at a depth of 3 times the height of the bulb. If the tulip bulb is 5 cm high, then it should be planted at a depth of 15 cm. The distance between small bulbs is 5 - 8 cm and 10 - 15 cm between larger ones.
Planting can be done in spring as well as in autumn. Use a small spade or a special bulb planter for planting. Plant the bulb with the tip up and the roots down.
How do I plant the dwarf iris in a pot or planter?
Put a layer of hydro grains on the bottom of a decorative pot. Place the flower bulb in the potting soil at the right depth. Water immediately after planting. A dwarf iris in a pot is not frost hardy. So put a layer of bubble wrap on the inside of the pot or put it inside before frost sets in.
Planting the dwarf iris in the garden
Find a suitable place in the border or create a flowerbed. Loosen the soil well and divide the tulip bulbs across the surface. That can be done in groups of 6 or spread out evenly. Plant the iris as indicated above, don't walk on the freshly planted area and water immediately.

What do I need?
How do I care for the iris?
The dwarf iris doesn't require a lot of care. Water well during dry spells. Make sure the soil doesn't become too moist. Remove dead flower stems so all the energy goes to the bulb. Clip off the iris's leaves once they turn yellow. During frost, put the pot inside in a cool area at a temperature above freezing. Cover the soil with leaves when the bulb is planted in the garden.
