Triple happiness. Fresh from the garden.

Do you know which flower represents happiness? That's right, the peony. We decided to triple the happiness with this mix. The mix consists of 1 white, 1 red and 1 pink peony. You won't want to wait to see them bloom. You will receive the peonies as bare-root stock in sugar cane sacking. This is more environmentally friendly than plastic nursery pots. The roots are shipped fresh from the ground. They are already one year old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to grow faster than they would in a nursery pot. Plants grown from bare-root stock also adapt to their new environment more easily. They flower better and they are more economical. Bare-root stock plants grow when it becomes warmer. They are winter-hardy perennials. They can be planted at any time, provided that the ground is not frozen. These peonies begin to flower in May/June. This lasts for about two months. Keep the soil around the roots moist. But it should never be soaking wet. Peonies bloom their best in full or half sun. Five or more hours of sunlight is perfect. The peonies can also be planted in flower pots on a patio, roof terrace or balcony. Or just plant them separately around the garden.

Planting
Peonies grow best in the ground. Prepare a suitable hole in loose, nutritious soil, enriched with compost or leaf mould. Plant the root ball at the appropriate depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just one cm below ground level. Be careful not to plant too deep! Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. Peonies blossom and grow well in an area with complete sunshine. The best planting time is from September to October. Peonies look great in the border Peonies will add a special touch to your border. These large, double flowers are even more beautiful next to other flowers. You can combine your Mixed Peonies early in the summer with Delphinium 'Magic Fountains', lupine Lupinus 'The Governor' or Wisteria.
Care
Mixed Peonies are easy-to-grow plants that require minimal maintenance. Be sure to prevent the soil around the roots from drying out. Cut off its faded flower stems in order to encourage a good growth. In the autumn, the stems above the ground can weaken and dieback so cover the plants in winter with a layer of fallen leaves. In spring, cut off all of their leaves. Soon there will be some new shoots growing above the ground. Since Peonies have long, fleshy roots, we recommend moving this perennial around as little as possible.
Extra
Peonies also make excellent, long-lasting cut flowers in a vase. Therefore, a group of Peonies should definitely not be missing from your cut flower garden. It is best to pick the flowers early in the morning. Remove its bottom leaves and place the stems directly into a vase full of lukewarm water with flower food. Because of the long stems, Peonies are very suitable for putting in oasis.
