Spectacularly speckled. Fresh from the garden.
What colours are we looking at? There are so many. This Iris germanica (bearded iris) "Spreckles" is dark red with yellow, orange and white. Parts of the flower are speckled as well. To top it all off, they smell wonderful. You will receive the Iris germanica "Spreckles" as bare-root stock in sugar cane sacking. This is more environmentally friendly than plastic nursery pots. The roots are shipped fresh from the ground. They are already one year old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to grow faster than they would in a nursery pot. Plants grown from bare-root stock also adapt to their new environment more easily. They flower better and they are more economical. Bare-root stock plants grow when it becomes warmer. These are winter-hardy perennials, so they return every year. The Iris germanica is best planted in the autumn. These bearded irises will begin blooming at the end of spring. This will continue for months. "Spreckles" will thrive in flower pots. But it does well in the garden too. Plant them in full sun. The flowers handle dry weather well. However, the roots should be watered immediately after planting.
