Don't water your bird of paradise plant too often, because it is alright for the soil to be on the dryer side. Regularly add fertiliser to the water in summer. Clip off any stems that have finished flowering. The Bird of Paradise makes a great tub plant The bird of paradise flower also looks excellent indoors, in a flower pot at a sunny location. It is a very easy and maintenance-free pot plant. Water the plant a bit more during the spring and summer. Always ensure good drainage, so a flower pot or planter retaining water underneath in the pot is out of the question. The plant can definitely not handle any frost. Make sure that you bring your Strelitzia reginae back inside in time.
