Planting
Hosta ‘White Feather’ likes a spot in the shade or part shade in fertile, fairly moist soil. They are hardy perennials that can thrive in the same spot for several years.

Plant Hosta ‘White Feather’ in the ground or in a large pot after receiving them from us. If planting in the ground, make a hole in good, loose soil. Condition poor garden soil by mixing in some compost and manure pellets. Plant the hosta ‘White Feather’ root ball at the appropriate depth - the top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil, heel well in and water immediately after planting. You can also plant the Hosta ‘White Feather’ in a large pot. Hosta Hybrids Mix is great for the garden Hostas are one of the most popular foliage plants. This perennial even grows well in the shade. You can use these plants as solitary plants or plant them between others. The leaves combine beautifully with Lamium Maculatum ‘Beacon Silver’ (spotted nettle) or Liriope Muscari ‘Moneymaker’. Other shade loving plants work well too – try Astilbe, Columbine and Japanese anemone. This leafy plant looks wonderful in pots too.
Care
Hosta hybrids are easy-to-grow and low-maintenance plants and that sure goes for the hosta ‘White Feather’ too.

Be sure to prevent the soil around the roots from drying out as they do not thrive well in dry soil. In the winter your hosta will go dormant and the leaves will die back. Cut off any remaining leaves in the spring and your hosta will reappear. Snails just love hosta leaves. Either physically remove the snails or lay a snail trap with a jar of beer. Or try some environmentally friendly snail repellent around the base of the hosta’s plant pot.
Extra
As the new leaves of the hosta ‘White Feather’ unfolds, it is practically completely white! What a lovely sight! They will eventually develop green streaks and the following spring, after dying back, they will come up white again.

The plantain lily is primarily known as a foliage plant. The lavender coloured flowers are an added bonus as they stand proud above the open leaves.
