How do I plant the crocus?
It’s best to plant the crocus as soon as possible after receipt. Plant it directly into the ground, in a flower pot or in a spacious planter. The crocus grows best in loose, well-drained soil. A sheltered spot in the sun or semi-shade will do just fine.
The crocus should be planted at a depth of 3 times the height of the bulb. For instance, if the crocus bulb is 5 cm high it should be planted at a depth of 15 cm. The distance between small bulbs is 5 - 8 cm and 10 - 15 cm between larger ones.
Planting can be done in spring as well as in autumn. Use a small spade or a special bulb planter for planting. Plant the bulb with the tip up and the roots down.
How do I plant the crocus in a pot or planter?
Put a layer of hydro grains on the bottom of a decorative pot. Place the flower bulb in the potting soil at the right depth. Water immediately after planting. A crocus in a pot is not frost hardy. So put a layer of bubble wrap on the inside of the pot or put it inside before frost sets in.
Planting the crocus in the garden
Find a suitable place in the border or create a flowerbed. Loosen the soil well and divide the tulip bulbs across the surface. That can be done in groups of 6 or spread out evenly. Plant the crocus as indicated above, water immediately, and don't walk on the freshly planted area.

Care
What do I need?
How do I care for the crocus?
The crocus doesn't require a lot of care. Water well during dry spells. Make sure the soil doesn't become too moist. Remove dead flower stems so all the energy goes to the bulb. Clip off the crocus's leaves once they turn yellow. During frost, put the pot inside in a cool area at a temperature above freezing. Cover the soil with leaves when the bulb is planted in the garden.

Extra
Crocuses usually pertain to the flower bulb category. Just like well-known spring bloomers such as tulips, hyacinths and narcissi. But the crocus is actually a tuber. The difference between a bulb and a tuber is that the bulb stores all the food itself, whereas tuber uses its roots to do that.
