This pond plant, low-growing calamus (Acorus) is best planted in a pond basket. Line the basket with sacking and use special pond medium to fill it. Plant your low-growing calamus in the basket and fill it up with more medium. Cover with the extra flaps of sacking and add a layer of grit or pebbles. Stand the basket around 10-15 cm deep in your pond. If you don't have pond ledges and it's too deep, use bricks to bring the height up. Plant in full sun or part shade.

Low-growing calamus (Acorus) is a decorative aquatic that will add a really natural look to your pond. Combine the low-growing calamus, with for example, the Anagallis tenella (bog Pimpernell) and yellow Iris (Iris pseudacorus) along the edge of a (natural or otherwise) pond.
