3x Aquatic plants - Mix red-yellow including floating ring

Our special plastic plant ring comes ready planted. Place the floating square on the pond as soon as possible. The plants will thrive best in full sun although part shade should not cause problems.

The plant island requires little or no maintenance and the plants are easily cultivated. If the island stays too long at the pond's edge, feel free to push it into the middle of the pond to prevent it growing attached. The plants will need splitting and replanting in the ring every two years to keep the island afloat. The plants will grow to about 80 cm tall. The plant island in the winter The plant island can remain on the pond throughout the winter as the plants are hardy. The part above ground level may partly freeze over in the winter but those parts can be cut back in early spring and the plants will shoot again shortly after. In extreme winters it would be advisable to store the complete island in a shed. Make sure that the plants do not dry out.

Red swamp gladiolus (Schizostylis coccinea) produces upright sword-shaped leaves and from late spring beautiful pink flowers  – height: max. 80 cm. The umbrella sedge (Cyperus alternifolius), is a grass-like plant with bracts that grow in an ‘umbrella’ formation. This species is a dwarf version of the ordinary Cyperus which we know as a house plant. Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia) is a low growing plant with characteristic round leaves that resemble a ‘penny’ also producing large yellow flowers. It will without doubt cross onto land if the floating island touches the pond's edge for any length of time but will not be affected by this. Height maximum 8 cm.
