Firm flesh with a good flavour. The squash 'Golden Hubbard' (Cucurbita maxima) is great in soups and casseroles. The 'Golden Hubbard' is bright orange and can grow to be up to 9 kilos. Plant the vegetable seeds in April-June in a garden bed at 20°C. You can harvest from September to October. Plant the squash in fertile soil.
Space the squash seeds 80 cm apart. Space the rows at a distance of 80 cm. Plant at a depth of 0.5 to 1 cm. Trim off the tops regularly. They are also edible. Plant the squash in a nice spot in full sun. After sowing, water the seeds adequately. The vegetable seeds come in a bag containing approximately 2.5 grams. This is enough to sow 6 square metres.
