Planting
Make sure the root ball of Bodnantense Viburnum ‘Dawn’ is well-moistened by soaking it in a bucket of lukewarm water before planting. Prepare a suitable hole in humus-rich soil that is not too dry. Improve your garden soil by mixing in some garden compost and manure. Plant the root ball of Winter Snowball at the appropriate depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. Place the shrub in an area with complete sunshine or partial shade.
Care
The Winter Snowball is a strong ornamental shrub that requires minimal maintenance. You can lightly prune the Winter Snowball after its flowering period in April and May. Heavy pruning is not necessary as the shrub already has a good shape, to keep this you can slightly prune the long branches. You can completely remove all of its crossing branches. Pruning is well-tolerated by this strong decorative shrub.
Extra
Winter Snowball is one of the few real winter bloomers. Its lovely pink flowers fight well against the cold winter. Depending on the weather, sometimes flowers appear in November, and you can expect them to remain until March. The flowers give off a delicious fragrance: their strong scent quickly fills the entire garden! The narrow leaves fall off during the winter but first it has beautiful autumn colours. This slow grower is suitable for small gardens.
