Curly leaves

Beautifully curled leaves, unusual flowers and an air-purifying effect; that is what the wax plant 'Krinkle' (Hoya) is known for. The Hoya is also called the wax plant because the flowers of the plant have a waxy surface.
The wax plant prefers full or partial shade, needs water twice a week and plant food twice a month.
Tip: do not remove the spent flowers, as new flowers can form on these old flowers.

Planting
What do I need?
• Decorative pot
• Potting soil

How to plant the Hoya in a pot?
This houseplant is delivered in a standard growers pot. It’s best for the growth of the Hoya to plant it in a decorative planter with trellis. So you can lead up the growing branches.

Cover the bottom of the decorative planter with a layer of potting soil. The Hoya should be 1 to 2 cm below the rim. Remove the growers pot and place the plant in the middle of the decorative pot. Fill the pot with fresh potting soil and press it down slightly.
Care
What do I need?
• Watering can
• Fertiliser for green plants
• Plant sprayer

How to take care of Hoyas?
Hoyas don't like a lot of water. A weekly dash is sufficient. Dissolve a little flowering plant fertiliser in the irrigation water every second week. The Hoya needs a rest period in November and December. Then water less and don't fertilise.

Do not put the plant too close to the heating. The hot airflow can dry out the leaves too quickly. You can leave the old flowers. Maybe they will bloom again! The Hoya enjoys a light spot with morning or evening sun.
Extra
Waxflower (Hoya) is a sturdy houseplant, easily grown. The leathery leaves are a glossy green. Waxflower rather resembles a succulent so requires very little watering.
Waxflower originated in the tropical, dry regions of Eastern Australia and is used in the tropics as ornamental, municipal planting. In more temperate climes, it makes a very popular houseplant. The large number of flowers smell delightfull.
Hoya is classified under Apocynaceae.
Waxflower rather resembles another well-known houseplant, Stephanotis floribunda - even down to the scented flowers!
