A sea of green! This fragrant thyme (Thymus serpyllum) is a wonderful ground cover. This plant is a creeping variety that has very small, aromatic leaves. Their leaves contain fragrant essential oil. Creeping thyme doesn't mind being walked over. This means it is ideal for rock gardens or for between paving stones. The evergreen pollen is completely covered with beautiful purple flowers in summer. They bloom between June and July.
This little plant does well in poor soil. A dry and sunny spot is perfect for the creeping thyme. All you need to do is give it a little water.
