A must-have in any kitchen! Onions are used in countless dishes. That's why it's so handy to be able to grab your own fresh onions from your garden. The onion 'Rijnsburger 5' (Allium cepa) produces beautifully large onions. The organic vegetable also has a long shelf-life. Sow the seeds in rows in the open ground in March-April. After approximately six weeks, thin them out. You can harvest onions from August to October.
Space the seeds 5 cm apart. Space the rows at a distance of 35 cm. Plant at a depth of 0.5 to 1 cm. Allium does well in partial shade or full sun. After sowing, water the seeds adequately. The seeds come in a bag containing approximately 1 gram. This is enough to sow 5 square metres.
