It is famous for its sweet flavour. The cantaloupe 'Charentais' (Cucumis) is the finest variety of all the melons with bright orange flesh. A delicious addition to a summery fruit salad, or loose as a refreshingly sweet snack. The fruit seeds are also organically certified. Plant the fruit seeds mid-April in a vegetable container when it is 20°C, or outdoors under glass later in the year. After thinning them out, plant them in a greenhouse. You can harvest from July to October.
Space the cantaloupe seeds 30 cm apart. Space the rows at a distance of 90 cm. Plant at a depth of 0.5 to 1 cm. Plant the fruit seeds in partial shade or full sun. After sowing, water the seeds adequately. The herb seeds come in a bag containing approximately 0.5 grams. This is enough to sow 3 square metres.
