A climber with stunning purple flowers. Shaped like a dragon's mouth. That is where it gets its name. The snap dragon (Asarina scandens) flowers profusely and continuously until the first frost. The Asarina is known as a climbing plant. But these days you'll also find it in hanging pots. Plant the flower seeds from mid-March under glass at a temperature of 20 degrees. Plant outdoors in mid-May. The flowers begins blooming in June. The climbing plant grows to about 300 cm tall.
Space the snap dragon seeds 20 cm apart. Space the rows at a distance of 20 cm. Plant at a depth of 0.5 to 1 cm. The Asarina blooms best in partial shade or full sun. After sowing, water the seeds adequately. The flower seeds come in a bag containing approximately 10 seeds. This is enough to sow 1 square metre.
