The Nature rib collection is made of light-weight plastic and is for use indoors or outdoors. If you're putting the pot outside, you do have to drill a 25 mm hole in the bottom first. This will allow the water to drain out. The inside of the pots contains insulation that keeps the roots of the plant at the same temperature throughout the year.
