The shoot of a banana plant will grow for 1 year. Then the plant will produce a new shoot. If you prune the dead leaves away, the 'Oriental Dwarf' will reward you with faster growth! Make sure to water the Musa regularly. The soil should always be quite moist. A bit less in winter than in summer. But you do need to ensure that the excess water can drain away easily. The Musa does like light, but not strong, midday sunshine. Small, but splendid!
