Geum (Avens) is a lovely border plant that just thrives in the garden. Dig a wide hole and fork the soil well loose. Improve poor soil with the addition of some well-rotted manure and fertiliser pellets. Plant your Geum at the correct depth - the top of the root ball should come to just below soil level. Fill the hole and heel well in. Water immediately after planting. Geum will grow and flourish in full sun and is perfectly suited to being potted up to window boxes and/or planters for on the patio.
