Lovely, charming and eye-catching

The lily represents love, peace and purity, just to name a few. Lilies are versatile in terms of colour, shape and size. They primarily appear in the wild in Japan and Korea. Lilies will look wonderful as part of a border, but also thrive when added to a flower box or planter. Not to mention that they look lovely on the patio or balcony! This variety has 10-15 flowers per bulb and has wonderfully fragrant and beautiful white flowers, and red on the outside.

Planting
What do I need?
  • Small spade or bulb planter
  • Watering can
  • Fresh potting soil and hydro grains (for pots or planters)
How do I plant the lily bulbs?
It’s best to plant the lily as soon as possible after receipt. Plant it directly into the ground, in a flower pot or in a spacious planter. The lily grows best in loose, well-drained soil. A sheltered spot in the sun, semi-shade or in the shadow will do just fine.

The lily should be planted at a depth of 3 times the height of the bulb. For instance, if the lily bulb is 5 cm high it should be planted at a depth of 15 cm. The distance between small bulbs is 5 - 8 cm, and 10 - 15 cm between larger ones.

Planting can be done in spring as well as in autumn. Use a small spade or a special bulb planter for planting. Plant the bulb with the tip up and the roots down.

Planting the lily in the garden
Find a suitable place in the border or create a flowerbed. Loosen the soil well and divide the lily bulbs across the surface. That can be done in groups of 6 or spread out evenly. Plant the lily as indicated above, water immediately, and don't walk on the freshly planted area.

How do I plant the lily in a pot or planter?
Put a layer of hydro grains on the bottom of a decorative pot. Place the lily bulb in the potting soil at the right depth. Water immediately after planting. It's best to put the pot inside in winter, as a lily in a pot doesn't cope well with frost.
Care
What do I need?
  • Watering can

How do I care for the lily?
Water the lily abundantly in spring and summer. The soil needs to stay thoroughly moist, especially during dry spells. Lily bulbs in a pot or planter can best be put inside in winter. Keep them in a cool and frost-free place.

Lilies that last
It’s a good idea to replant lilies after 4 or 5 years. This way, they’ll get new energy from the soil and will last for many years to come. To put it inside, clip off half of the lily's stem. Don't repeat that with the same plant every year as it will exhaust the lily.
