Iberis Sempervirens

Iberis Sempervirens

The Iberis Sempervirens also known as candytuft is a pretty perennial that originated in southern Europe. The plant is characterised by white, flat-topped flower clusters and between April and June you will enjoy the floral splendour that it provides in your garden. It requires little maintenance and loves a spot in full sun in soil that is not too moist. Immediately after the first flush of flowers it can be cut back slightly which helps to retain its shape and prolong the flowering period. The Iberis is a great ground cover plant that deserves a place in rock gardens or borders – in short a perfect low growing plant! During winter it is advisable to protect the plants from freezing by covering them with some fallen leaves.
