Hippeastrum 'Glitterz'

Wax Amaryllis 'Glitterz' red

Hippeastrum 'Glitterz'
No Water Flowers®
Who doesn't love a little glitter? We certainly do! This amaryllis bulb features a wax layer of red glitter. The sparkling red wax layer goes beautifully with the colour of the flowers: deep red. The bulb comes in lovely gift packaging. It’s perfect to give as a present. The amaryllis has two stems with in total six to eight flowers. The first flowers appear in six to eight weeks.
The bulb comes with a stand. Put the waxed amaryllis bulb in a bright, warm spot in your home. But don't place it in direct sunlight or a cold, shady spot. The amaryllis won't do well in these conditions. The bulb is easy to care for. it doesn't need any water! The amaryllis bulb has enough energy to blossom without water.
You'll have an amaryllis dressed in red glitter with hardly any effort at all!

The name Amaryllis actually came about due to a mistake by Swedish botanist Linnaeus. This was apparently because the buds of the flower resemble horse ears. In 1800, botanist Herbert discovered that the flower bulb did not belong to the Amaryllis species. That is why he came up with the new species name Hippeastrum, which is the name in Greek for “knight’s star”. However, the flower itself is still called Amaryllis.
