Standard rose Rosa 'Melrose' pink

Rosa 'Melrose'
Charming pink
A romantic atmosphere! The standard rose (Rosa) 'Melrose' deserves a place in any garden. The lightly fragrant flowers have a charming, bright pink colour. Plant the standard rose in the autumn. The flowers bloom from summer until the end of autumn. The standard rose is winter hardy.
Prune the plant every spring. In the summer, remove any wild shoots growing from the stem or roots. Place the plant in full sun or partial shade. Water the standard rose generously immediately after planting. Give it extra water during dry periods.
The rose is grafted. This ensures they have extra strong branches. The roses have a longer lifespan and are extra winter hardy.

Planting+

We exclusively supply A-Quality rose bushes (as rated by the ENA, European Nurserystock Association), with 3 strong branches.
Soak these pot grown roses in a bucket of lukewarm water for 30 minutes prior to planting. Prepare a spacious hole, loosen the soil with a fork and improve the soil with an added mix of some compost and granulated cow manure. Remove the rose from its pot and plant your rose bush at the correct depth. Best is around half an inch deeper than the top of the root ball. Fill the hole with the improved soil, heel well in and water generously. Full sun or part shade is necessary for abundant flowering.

Care+

All standard roses need pruning every spring. In March, prune hard back to 3-5 eyes (buds). Leave 4 or 5 thick branches per stem. The roses that we supply have already been pruned properly so they will not require pruning again for another 18 months. In the summer remove any suckers that grow from the trunk or the roots. These are recognisable by the thorns and the seven fingered leaves.

Extra+

This is a strong and sturdy standard rose bush with fantastic blooms. The roses are semi- double and appear all summer long. This particular standard rose bush will look great in a planter and of course exceptional in the garden. Enjoy it wherever you plant it.
