As soon as possible after receiving the Candelabra plant, place the pot in a warm sunny position. It is also tolerant of full sun. This strong, decorative cactus plant requires very little maintenance.
Euphorbia lactea is drought tolerant so therefore requires very little watering. Let the plant dry out thoroughly between watering. During the winter put the plant in a cooler place and watering once will be sufficient. Do not over-water the Euphorbia as this could result in loosing the plant. When the candelabra plant needs repotting use a mixture of potting compost and sharp sand. Take care with the sap from the Euphorbia as it can cause irritation to the skin. It is therefore advisable when repotting to wear gloves.
Euphorbia lactea originates from India. The stems consist of thorny leaves and are strongly branched. A somewhat larger plant is so heavily branched that it resembles a multi-armed candlestick. The leaves on top of the small green trunk are folded and greyish-green in colour. A very decorative houseplant that is easy to take care of.
