Yellow Shallot 'Golden Gourmet' (Allium Ascalonicum) is a perfect variety for environmentally friendly cultivation and resistant to the yellow dwarf virus. Keeps for a long time when stored in cool, dry surroundings. Both the bulb and the green tops can be eaten fresh. Shallots have some sort of spicy taste. This species is resistant to the most common onion diseases. Both the bulb and the leaves are edible.

Yellow Shallot 'Golden Gourmet' can be planted in rows during the spring when there is no more frost. The distance between rows is about 35 cm. The distance between the shallots is about 15 cm. Plant the shallots in the ground just below ground level. Young shallots may go through shooting. If the weather is wet it is best to leave until later. Shallots grow best under complete sunshine.
