Redcurrant Ribes rubrum 'Wardavia' - Organic green

Ribes rubrum 'Wardavia'
Fresh, white pearls
They look just like white pearls! Small, glossy, white berries. We grow the pearls in our own garden. The plant attracts butterflies and bees. Added attractiveness! The organically grown currant 'Wardavia' (Ribes rubrum) has a tart flavour. The fruit shrub can also be planted in a flowerpot on the balcony. The perennial fruit bush blossoms in the spring, revealing green and white flowers. A crop will be ready to harvest from summer onwards in the second year after planting.
Currants require support while growing. Be sure to secure the vines to a climbing base or woven structure. Sufficient light is needed to ensure good growth. For this reason, the fruit bush should be planted in full sun. The currants will grow in any type of soil. It's best to give the tree extra water during dry spells.
The plant is grown organically. In other words, no chemical pesticides have been used to grow the plant. For a healthy garden!

Planting+
These plants like light soil that has good drainage and is rich in humus. The results will be even better if a handful of enriched potting soil is added. Choose a sunny or partially sheltered position where the plants will be less exposed to frost. Make sure the root ball is well-moistened before planting White Currants 'White Pearl' by soaking in a bucket of lukewarm water. Prepare a suitable hole and plant the 'White Pearl' at the appropriate depth. The top of the root ball should be slightly below ground level. Don't plant it too deep! Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. Spacing between the bushes is approximately one metre.
Care+
White Currants 'White Pearl' are very easy-to-grow currant bushes. During dry periods water more often. In the spring, give them some potassium-rich garden fertilizer. After three years, you can prune all of its branches by 1/3. It is also possible to train the branches down with wires. To protect against the birds from eating the buds it is advisable to put a netting over the bush.
