Planting
What do I need?
• Planter
• Potting soil
• Hydro grains (optional)

How to plant the Polyscias in a pot?
This houseplant is delivered in a standard growers pot. It’s best for the growth of the Polyscias to plant it in a decorative planter. Select a pot that is at least 20 percent larger than the growers pot.

Cover the bottom of the decorative planter with a layer of potting soil. Does the decorative pot have a hole? Then start with a layer of hydro grains, so the water can drain away. The Polyscias should be 1 to 2 cm below the rim. Remove the growers pot and place the plant in the middle of the decorative pot. Fill the pot with fresh potting soil and press it down slightly.
Care
What do I need?
• A watering can
• A plant sprayer
• Plant nutrition

How do I take care of my Polyscias?
Polyscias are strong tropical plants. They can handle heat and drought. They are very strong plants that require very little attention. They cannot handle the afternoon sun, and only need a little bit of water when the soil feels dry to the touch.

Polyscias are easy to keep. Water them every week and add some nutrition for green plants every two weeks so the plant will continue to grow. Water them twice a week in summer when needed, but always only when the soil feels dry to the touch.

Polyscias have a natural dormant period in November and December. Then water less and don't fertilise.

Polyscias grow towards the light a little but they don't like to be moved, so don't disturb them if possible.

You can also move your Polyscias outdoors in summer. It will take the leaves some time to get used to the heat, so place it in the shade for starters, and leave it in the sun for an hour longer every day for five consecutive days. Once the night temperature drops below eight degrees, the plant should be moved back inside.
